Our Mission

Education should not depend on which village you are born in.

We exist to make sure children in remote Uttarakhand get the same chance to learn, grow and dream as anyone else.

Utthan Shiksha Foundation began in 2019 with a simple observation: in the hill villages of Uttarakhand, talented children were leaving school not for lack of ability, but for lack of support. Schools were far, books were expensive, and there was often no one at home who could help with studies.

We started with a single after-school study circle and a handful of children. Today we walk alongside 30–50 students — helping them with daily lessons, providing books and uniforms, introducing them to computers, and standing by them as mentors.

“Our goal is not charity. It is to unlock the potential that is already there in every child.”

We deliberately stay small and focused. By keeping our numbers modest, we can build real relationships with each child and family, track progress closely, and make sure that every rupee donated creates lasting change.

What we value

Children first

Every decision starts with one question: is this good for the child in front of us?

Small but deep

We focus on 30–50 students so each one gets real attention, not just a number on a report.

Transparent

Donors know exactly where their money goes. We share regular updates from the field.

Community-led

We work alongside parents, local teachers and volunteers from the same hills we serve.
